Lax-A-Day Laxative

Lax-A-Day is a tasteless, grit-free, sugar-free powder to be mixed into a beverage. It works by gently drawing water into the stools, making them softer and increasing the frequency of bowel movements without any sense of urgency. Dosage: Adults over 18 years: A single dose of 17g should be taken once a day or as directed by your physician. Avoid taking within 2 hours of taking another medication.

Directions: This product is supplied with a dosing cap marked to contain 17 grams of powder when filled to the indicated line.
1. Measure 17g of powder.
2. Stir into a cup (250mL) of water, juice, soda, coffee or tea until completely dissolved.
3. Drink the solution.
4. Treatment for 2 to 4 days may be required to produce a bowel movement.

Medicinal Ingredient: 100% Polyethylene Glycol 3350.
Non-Medicinal Ingredients: None. 

Warnings and Precautions:
Do not use in children under 18 years of age unless advised by your doctor. Keep this and other drugs out of the reach of children. Do not use if you have a known or suspected bowel obstruction or if you are allergic to polyethylene glycol. Patients with symptoms suggestive of bowel obstruction, appendicitis, or inflamed bowel (fever, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain or bloating) should consult a doctor before initiating therapy. Taking more than the recommended dose may cause loss of fluid or dehydration due to severe diarrhea. You may discontinue taking the drug after you have had several satisfactory bowel movements. This product should be used for one week or less or as directed by a physician. Prolonged, frequent or excessive use of any laxative may cause electrolyte imbalance and dependence on laxatives.
Before taking this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist: about any allergy to medications, food, etc.; about your medical conditions and medications; if you are pregnant or thinking about becoming pregnant; or if you are breastfeeding. Some side effects include nausea, abdominal bloating, cramping or flatulence, diarrhea and excessive stool frequency (especially in elderly); consult a doctor immediately if these effects are severe. Stop use and contact a doctor immediately if you have any severe or unusual side effects or an allergic reaction (red skin, hives, itching, swelling of the lips, face, tongue, throat, trouble breathing, wheezing, shortness of breath, skin rashes, blisters, sores or pain in the mouth or eyes).
