What are Mackenzies Smelling Salts?
Mackenzies Smelling Salts are a remedy for congestion or symptoms of a head cold. They’re ideal for times when inflamed mucous membranes in your nose and throat are causing a blocked nose and phlegm, helping to clear your airways. This product can be used by most people, including infants older than 3 months, and are perfect for those looking for a congestion treatment that won’t make them drowsy or can be used by the whole family.
What is a head cold?
A head cold is just a regular cold, although some people associate a head cold specifically with symptoms that affect your head. These symptoms include:
A blocked or runny nose
Sinus pressure, pain or irritation
Headaches
Coughs
Sneezing
Sore throat
Loss of taste or smell
Although these symptoms can all be present when you have a head cold, there are lots of other symptoms you can experience too, as colds don’t just affect your head. Other symptoms you could experience include:
A fever or high temperature

How will Mackenzies Smelling Salts ease my congestion?
Mackenzies Smelling Salts use a combination of eucalyptus and ammonia to trigger an irritation response in the membranes of your nose and lungs. This encourages inhalation, often as a sharp intake of breath to begin with, making it easier for you to breathe when you’re congested from a cold. 
Are smelling salts suitable for children?
Mackenzies Smelling Salts can be used by children aged 3 months and over. They’re an ideal alternative to decongestant tablets or medicines, which are often unsuitable for young children. If you plan to use this product for a child, ask your doctor or pharmacist before doing so, so you can be sure that this treatment is right for them, Never leave a young child to use smelling salts unsupervised.
How to use this product
Inhale the vapour through your nose as often as needed. Use the smelling salts to inhale only. If your symptoms persists or are severe, speak to your doctor for advice.
When should this product not be used?
Mackenzies Smelling Salts are not suitable for children younger than 3 months old. Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of the listed ingredients. This product is for inhalation only, do not attempt to swallow or ingest this product in any way.

Mackenzies Smelling Salts do not have any known side effects when they’re used as recommended by the manufacturer.
